The Palstar DL5K 5000 watt is the next generation dummy load. Like the DL2K, it was born out of the need for a dummy load that allows for more time to tune your amp at high power. Most dummy loads can't handle the real world power load needed by Ham operators. The solution Palstar came up with is the DL5K which can handle 5000W for up to 0.5 minutes. Aware of over-heating problems found in other dummy loads, the DL5K is fan-cooled to prevent burn-out. Also available at 2000 watts, the DL2K.
